

Localization has to do as a whole with the cultural adaptation translation of software, video games, websites or other types of content and more rarely with translation which may include a process of cultural adaptation.
Localization is not only translation of a given text but also its adaptation to a specific region, target group or culture, so that the message is understood in the best way possible by the intended audience.
Localization may be needed in countries in which different languages are spoken or the same language is used but with regional varieties determining the choice of words or expressions, e.g. in the countries where English is the official language (the USA, the UK, or Australia).
